Modular Bar System 2023
Events often require mobile and flexible solutions, which is why my client tasked me with designing a modular bar system which could be used for different purposes and with customizable branding. The bar module should allow front rest, fit on common europalletes and fit through 80cm doors. It should also be lightweight, allow for different shapes and materials and require the least amount of personnel to setup and break down.
My approach was top-down, looking first into the optimal spatial configurations that the final series of modules should have, in order to define the construction system. The next step was to go into detail design of a single straight module, to optimize dimensions and the different functions it should have. With the help and feedback of the metal producer and the team, an elegant system was prototyped, which was eventually used by Campari in their modular bar solution (see “CAMPARI bar” project).
